COVID-19 Who's had the vaccine?

I received the letter yesterday and immediately booked for this Thursday and June 1st.
Hubby was pleased as he is somewhat vulnerable; he had been trying to get me to book without the letter but I didn't want to as someone else here had said they were turned away because they didn't have the letter.

I’ve got my vaccine booked for tomorrow, got a text inviting me to book at the wknd, thankfully in my town but my poor mum will have to travel out of town if she books hers!

A quick question to hopefully save me a long phone call to doctors, I’ve also got a blood test booked for 4 hours later, does anyone think this will be an issue? Don’t want false readings coming up of anything for doctors but not sure if it’s ok?! :hmm:

I would mention you’ve had the vaccine but I don’t think it will impair any results of your blood test. My understanding is that it takes 2-3 weeks to kick in. You could phone your GP to check if you’d rather be certain . I hope everything goes smoothly for you

Thanks so much :) Yes I’ll mention it thank you, couldn’t find an issue when googling it so hopefully it’ll be ok! 🤞

I’d say it depends what it’s for. If it is for a full blood count it’s a bit quick to see your white cells going up but I’d be wary of someone deciding the results were equivocal because of that and causing a delay. If you can get it done before that might be preferable.

I called through to the hospital to ask, who put me through to the Covid jab place, they said it shouldn’t be an issue (but if it made me feel better to rebook bloods) 🤦‍♀️ The bloods are because I should’ve been having regular blood tests on one of my epilepsy tablets but I wasn’t aware until recently when a GP informed me! Been on them over 3 years.
But in hospital last week my white cell count was very high so will be looking at that too I’m guessing. Not sure whether to rebook my blood test now, will be second time I’ve cancelled as at a different hospital last week when it was due! 🤦‍♀️🤔

Had the pfizer vaccine 3 weeks ago, felt tired for a couple of days after but nothing to really write home about, side effects were worse from flu jab... Looking forward to getting the second dose tbh.

Had mine yesterday (Astra-Zeneca), quite a dead arm today but no issues here really. I’m only 34 but am classed as vulnerable with my epilepsy I’m guessing (got a text on phone so didn’t question it!). A bit tired but was a bit of a mad day so blaming that really! Pleased to have had it!

The centre i am volunteering at is looking at getting up to 1200 people through a DAY soon...... it's going to be manic thats for sure....... feel a bit bad as I can only do 1 shift a week now i am back at work...

I think I had the vaccine this morning. I sat in a chair at the health centre and a nice lady drew a clear liquid into a syringe with a needle attached. She said "all done, no blood". I didn't feel a thing, I can't see mark. My partner has looked at my arm with a magnifying glass and he can't find a mark either.

I had my first vaccine this afternoon and have to commend all the staff involved. I was treated like a Queen and was pleasantly surprised at how small the needle was. I was in and out before my appointment time. The biggest trauma was having to wear a bra for the first time in a year. Blimey I’ve gone from the middle clips to the outer ones and I thought my head was going to turn blue 😂. For any of you who may feel nervous please be rest assured. From my experience it was pleasurable . The staff were lovely, up for a laugh and efficient. Note to self- no more Jaffa cakes, kitkats or Malteser biscuits 😂

Similar note here. I went to put on a T shirt not worn from last summer to leave my upper arms free, it covered where it touched! Eventually found one that used to be too big.
