COVID-19 Who's had the vaccine?

I’m struggling today after having the vaccine yesterday. Feel hungover and got a banging headache and blocked nose :( Still, at least I should feel normal again in a day or two and it beats the sickness I suffered when I had Covid back November
Hang in there Claire - you will feel better soon, and as you already know it is better than actual Covid.

I had my vaccine on Saturday Claire, hardly moved off the sofa on Sunday. Headache, nausea aching muscles and a multitude of lesser symptoms. Monday was an improvement and yesterday I was back to normal. It doesn't last long and at least you know your immune system is working well. I'd have been more worried if I'd not felt unwell.
I hope you feel better very soon.

Hi Claire,

The advice is to take paracetamol if you have side effects such as aches or a fever. This assumes that you are able to take paracetamol. :) I only had tiredness after my jab but Allan had a low grade fever for a couple of days. Hope you feel better soon.

I had a fever, stiff painful arm, headache and fatigued .I took ibrufen and paracetamol as needed.approx 3 days like this.now I'm ok,my arm is still sore. The benefits of the vaccine out way the slight reaction.I'm just so grateful to have been offered it !I hope you feel better soon Claire .xx

I had the jab on Saturday and like many others I felt headachey and tired for a couple of days, but now feel fine. The sore arm is the thing that seems to last the longest, but that’s finally easing now.

Had mine yesterday and same side effects. Feel like I have been run over by a bus. Headaches, muscle pains etc. But as we all say, better than the real thing. Even Guineas aren’t getting cuddles tonight

My family and I had ours on Tuesday, mums a carer and myself and my siblings have a rare genetic disorder (ehlers danlos syndrome, feel free to Google. Maybe in the future I won't have to spend 20-30 minutes explaining what it is and what it affects, how it affects me for them to call in another Dr, for me to repeat it all again and then they be too scared to touch me while I have a dislocated knee/jaw) 😅

Some of us had some minor reactions headache, nausea, aches. I had nothing. Just a sore arm...well doesn't really qualify as sore just a dull pain. We had the astra zeneca :)

Had mine yesterday & today's been written off - hot/cold, aches, nausea, pounding head.
Hope you feel better soon. OH has his tomorrow and mine is next Saturday. Hopefully we'll both feel fine with no side effects but somehow I doubt that very much.

A lot of people do seem to be having side effects, particularly with the AstraZeneca. Totally worth it, though.

Had mine three weeks ago. Astra Zeneca. I was shocked how poorly I felt afterwards. I’m never ill so wasn’t prepared for it. My arm still hurts! Still I’m glad I had it done.

The Pfizer is meant to be worse especially after the second dose or something, but then again name a vaccine that doesn't have side effects.

I had no idea how to react - they all seem apt for parts of your post.
I had heard of Ehlers Danlos syndrome- sorry you have to deal with that, but glad you didn’t have any side effects from the vaccine.

Mum gets hers tomorrow. We both interested to see which one she gets & if she has a reaction to it.

Alas, mine yesterday, hence why I am up so early coz I’m hot and have a dribble nose in bed and headache already. But I got myself organised, all pigs veg chopped, everything topped up and instructions left if I’m unwell.
household organised for dinners for 2 days while I will probably be in bed. Got to be fit for Monday to help my colleagues in blue 💙

24 hours after Mum had the AZ jab, she has had no reaction yet - not even a sore arm!
Honestly wished that happened to me. Day 2 in bed and have I been ill, highest temperature was 102F this morning at 5.30am and it pretty much stayed there for a few hours...right down now though to a toasty 37.1 so I'm feeling better.

Sorry you've (and others) had a strong reaction to the vaccine, but hopefully that means your immune system has got revved up and will be even more ready should it have to deal with the real virus. Glad you're feeling better now!

OH had his on Saturday he had the AZ one and apart from a sore arm and feeling tired he has been fine. Some of his work colleagues have said they felt like they had the hangover from Hell.

Interestingly 48 hours after my first dose of the Astra Zeneca jab I felt fine (after feeling dreadful for 24 hours). I went for a gentle run after giving myself 48 hours off and my heart rate was far, far higher than usual for much of the run. It was over 130 bps consistently which is really high for me even when I am training hard and it was a slow, gentle run. Yesterday I cycled, it was back to where it usually is.

I find it all fascinating!

My mum will be getting her vaccine next week! We're all so relieved, she is placed high on the risk group due to cancer.
She goes around telling everybody she's getting "stabbed" next week:roll:

In fairness that's how I explain being in pain for a day or two after my injection. "Yeah, got stabbed again yesterday."
