All the best to little Dot... and you, sounds like you are having rough time at the moment x
the only thing I can say that confused me, is how do you keep this up in winter?I truly believe this is why my piggies haven't had bladder issues. They eat a very natural diet and will spend whole days outside in the runs. They are so much more active, when in the run, than they are in their cages.
They go out for a while all year round and I pick grass when it’s too cold.the only thing I can say that confused me, is how do you keep this up in winter?
thanks, yea pretty rough, but when your going through hell keep going, always a light at the end of the tunnelAll the best to little Dot... and you, sounds like you are having rough time at the moment x
I think if dot comes home with her bladder reset, I can start a fresh on following what you do, diet wise. I haven't had dot on that diet long compared to how old she is. This sludge has been appearing round her vulva for years. And I put it down to I. CThey go out for a while all year round and I pick grass when it’s too cold.
yes, it will be lovely to get him home again, I think the plan is Ted is going to have another dental fairly soon and then see how he is eating. We are hoping that might coincide with the easing of the lock downm but he is in the best place for now with Debbie, wouldn’t want to bring him home until unless he’s made a full recovery while lock down is still onReally glad about Tedhe needed to get home and be with his wives now. Deserves it
I 5houvht to myself, Ted would want a dental, close to when you come and get him. I think you are right and that’s always been my thinking. All my piggies have spent long days out on the grass. This winter was the first time I’ve kept them in because the weathers been so wet, but if the weathers mild and it‘s dry then they were happy to be out and they have a bunny box and bunny ark to go shelter in if they wantI truly believe this is why my piggies haven't had bladder issues. She's had it. It's all out. But the stone won't go. Itl either never bother her, or will grow and we can get it further down the line, few monthsWill she be having a bladder flush?
That's good! She's had it. It's all out. But the stone won't go.
Aw, well that least she will feel better now xGot the phone call from vets. Dot had loads of blood, bladder sludge, and has a micro stone. (were taking half a mm by half mm) The stone Simon can't reach it to get it out. But he had a long talk with me, and said he reckons loads of people's guinea pigs probably have thembut wouldn't know unless pain shows up. So dot should be fine now but I'm taking her back in a few months time, if the stone has grown, simon will be able to get it out.

I’ve been to the vets three times in the last five days. Had to wait outside until the nurse came out and take Frankie in to the vet She brought him out and then the vet came out to talk to me. I was nervous and busting for the loo so I can relate to how you feel. A few more visits like that and I will have the bum of a goddess with all the butt clenchesIt is weird leaving them on a chair and then walking away. But I get a sick feeling when I go to the vets and always end up needing to go toilet. So I felt better in the car haha

I was told the same on here years ago (really can’t remember thread title to have a readThat's huge! It's about 4x the size of the one Rusty had removed in January.
)! Couldn’t believe what a trooper he was to have that inside him and still run around after Jess as normal, amazing he was my Rupert Bear!I've was thinking about curling one out in the boot in a bag![]()
Looks like a bubblegumI had absolutely no idea Rupert (my rainbow bridge avatar if anyone doesn’t know) had his bad one, no blood etc, came home one afternoon to just find him hunched in the corner of his cage straining and feeling a bit bloated, turned out his stone was stuck in his willy and he couldn’t pee at all, literally nothing from his bladder, so emergency surgery or PTS. So I’m so pleased I went for the first option. This is the stone (yup I’m mad keeping it all these yrs!)

Stuck in his willy, poor lad! After cutting it out of there he also had bladder flushed as lots of sludgeGod did I feel guilty!
The second was much smaller and Simon was happy he could pass it, I got alerted that time though as he had a UTI too. These piggles can hide it well though!
Hope she’s feeling much better after her bladder flush and no more problems bless her x
Hopefully will just pass like Poopy’s second one. It’s not as ‘dangerous’ for ladies if they’re smaller, hopefully wouldn’t get to that emergency situation, especially if she’s had a good flush out now xLooks like a bubblegum. Pip had three of these at one time. He died though from it. Simon looked on xray and said he can't get to them. Shame, I think dot will end up in for this micro one out when it grows. Hope it doesnt
Simon tried to flush it but it wouldn't budge, but he assured me it's not a worry, if she shows signs, come back and he's confident he will be able to grab it. He said if he kept trying he would risk damaging her.Hopefully will just pass like Poopy’s second one. Just mean it’s all the sludge that ‘builds’ together and forms the stones, so hopefully the one that’s there will be passed soon and no more build-up to form more or add to that teeny one with the sludge. From what he said, I don't think it will pass. I guess I'll see what happens down the line. Rupert’s emergency op was with my local vets (one of the good ones) but when he got the second I wanted Simon’s opinion, so cost me a fortune in xrays that week but just wanted him to tell me Rupert was ok like my local one did! So good you’re close and he’s an expertx
