I have two girls that have been together since birth (sisters) but haven't stopped fighting since. There's been a lot of flying fur, but no literal bloodshed which is why I haven't separated yet. I've been told that since they're one year and three months old, they may still be maturing. I am willing to give them more time, but if it doesn't work out, I need to have a plan. One of them, Winnie, is really docile and is always the target, I've never witnessed her start an argument. The other one, Eliza, is always the one to bite first. They lunge and chatter and grind their teeth and rumble strut and chase each other constantly! They have a 4x2 C&C cage with two separate waters, two food bowls, two hides, and a massive litter box/hay holder that could fit four guineas. I don't think space is an issue, so does anyone else think they are just still figuring out dominance, and regardless of why they're fighting, what can I do to help or stop them?

Have they been fighting since birth or is this a new development?
Their cage and set up sound fine, so it could just be that they simply don't like each other.
When you say the chasing is constant does this mean it happens daily, or does it tend to happen every 15 - 17 days (round about the time one of the girls comes into season)?
What are their weights like?

If they are fighting all the time then it really does sound to me like they just don't like each otehr very much.
Have you tried a trial separation by placing grids across the center of their cage for a few hours?
You can always try this and see how the piggies react. If they seem to perk up and be happier when they are separated, then you have your answer.

Thanks for your advice! And yes, the fighting started within days of them coming home, as soon as they started getting used to their surroundings. And I'll either hear or see them chase each other at least once a day. I don't have exact weights on them right now, my scale is broken, but they look healthy. Definitely not underweight, they have a nice plump pear shape. And I did separate them once and they were quiet all night, I didn't hear the usual whistles of one of them being scared by the other so I'll at least separate them again and see where that gets me, thank you again.
