Hello
My name is MaLane. I own a full grown male Guinea pig. (I'm not sure what kind of breed he is. His all white but half his face and one ear is black). I noticed something when I first got him, his one of his eyes is kind of odd. Honestly, the only way I can explain it is that it looks like his iris is broken. He isn't blind and his other eye looks normal. I'll add a photo

It's possible it is a hay poke ? Look forward to seeing your pictures

Hi there that was fast,
Do you meen the wavy look ! Looks revetivly normal to me .
Anyone else got any thoughts ?

I can't see anything wong? The older guinea pigs get the more irregular the boundary between the iris and the white of the eye gets, but that is nothing to worry about.

How old is he?

I had a pig with Osseous Metaplasia. At the time I didn't have access to a guinea pig specialised vet, but she was very willing to research stuff. So between her and Guinea Lynx we thought it was that.

It started in one eye and eventually started in the other. He did go blind eventually but he never seemed to be in any pain from it, and it never caused him any difficulty.

He did have other problems, like a heart condition and I think some of the other pigs on Guinea Lynx who had it did too.

I don't believe there is anything you can do to treat it. Maybe use eye lubrication prescribed be the vet if he seems to have any issues in the future. Ace didn't.
