Hi guys me again I seem to only ever come back with bad news. 😱

Steve. My little Steve the new worrying furchild. Really seeking some good words and hopefully some "he's going to be ok, doesn't mean he's gonna die". I have my 11 year old rabbit going in for a dental tomorrow (it is necessary) so I will of course ask vets and book Steve in, but in the meantime.

Basically, it appears he is losing a small patch of hair on his belly near one of his nipples (not close by but near that general area). I've had a little look from what he's allowed cos I have literally only just noticed. Doesn't look red, or bleeding or to be honest nasty at all. Can't see a lump...but I know they can lose hair or self barber if they are in pain. Could it be something minor or is this leaning towards a tumour. 😢😢

Everything seems to be happening at once at the moment. He's still eating etc. Odd day if him squealing while weeing (well two to be be precise. My most recent post before this was when he last had a squealing while weeing episode then was fine agin until last night AND now again seems fine).

Could it be a stone? Sludge?

🤣Begging for someone to calm me haha. Just he's still young. And I seem to lose all my piggies around the 3 year mark and I'm not sure why.😢

I’m sorry but I can’t tell you what’s wrong. Hope you can get him an appointment and fingers crossed it’s minor.

Fingers firmly crossed for tomorrow!

Unfortunately this one of these things that needs a hands-on examination and taking it from there. Good that you have already got an appointment booked! Hopefully your vet can't find anything either and will just ask you to keep an eye on it in case of further developments.

You get these bad streaks but then in the long run, you also get some good streaks, too; so it balances out. The bad streaks have however got a tendency to happen at the worst of times. :(

Thank you. Already whittling about Bigwig going under the sedation for his dental with his age, but it needs doing or he won't be with us in a month. He deserves the chance.

I know I'll likely be allowed an X-Ray for little Steve if I want one. Just so worried it's going to be something sinister. When he squealed last time I've picked him up and checked his belly and last night when he squealed I did the same cos I always do a mini bum bath incase it's something stuck up his willy like hay. Didn't notice it last night, but then I was tired and he was not liking being interrupted lol.

I would definitely see the vet of course, but sometimes loss of tummy fur accompanied by squeaky sore wees is just a mild UTI that can be fixed by a week long course of antibiotics and loxicom
When our Piggle got a UTI (helpfully on Christmas eve!) she also had a bit of fur loss on her lower tummy from urine scald. It was all fine after a vet check and a week of medication.
Please see the vet, but dont panic too soon, this could be something very straightforward- pet illnesses always seem to come in bad runs (we had 3 other piggies seeing the vet in the month before Piggle got her UTI! We had bloat, possible mites, and a new piggy with ringworm and serious dental issues!) but sooner or later it is just going to be a very minor issue, although I can completely understand why you are fearing the worst x

My vet colleagues are running off my pet problems at the moment I think🤣🤣🤣 they seem to have seen 90% of my zoo in the few months I've been there haha. Yes I'll see if I can get him up tomorrow after Bigwigs dental cos I've only got the one carrier and if not Monday because the piggy savvy vet is only in tomorrow and Monday (I'll try get a picture to take with me so she can see what she thinks and if it warrants rushing him in).

I'm such a worrier🤣. I'm praying it is a UTI, but I just don't get why he does this squealing non stop through night then nothing and he's normal then oh yeah I'll squeal all through the night again...just expect it to happen all the time? I don't know🤣🤷🏼‍♀️ oh Steve you weirdo. Just thankful he's eating or I'd be camped up outside the vets now🤣🤣

Thank you for all your replies and so quickly. I know only a vet can tell me what's up, but it's nice hearing reassurance. I thought working in a vets would make situations like this less stressful...but nope!
