Turn my double into trio again

Hey!,
I have had my sow trio of guinea pigs for two months (experienced owner) they were all sisters and got along well.
Sadly one was a runt, and through many vet visits she still passed away through seizure.
I was recently thinking about getting the trio back together but am scared as to whether its advisable to do so. I don't want a guinea pig to be left out or possibly suffer and get ill.
They have a 4x1 cc cage and I am upgrading to a 4 or 5 x 2 cage with multiple lofts regardless of whether i get another. But since I am upgrading, I would love advice on how I would go about getting another and what sex it should be.

Temperment and personality
Spice (submissive)- a bit skittish/nervous in general, boisterous and does lots of zoomies. Easily upset/annoyed, can be a bit nippish. Mounts a lot. Annoys cinnamon.

Cinnamon (dominant)- relaxed, loves sleeping and laying down, likes personal space (unless its lap time), nicely dominant, gentle, and eats A LOT. Tells spice off.

I’m sorry for your loss.

Character compatibility comes first so dating your piggies at a rescue centre is best to find a new friend. There is always a risk that a bonded pair won’t accept a single - whether it be another sow or a neutered boar. If you buy on spec then you need to be prepared for a failure.

A 4x1 C&c cage is not big even for one piggy so please do upgrade as soon as you can. For two sows you need a 4x2 and for a trio, you need a 5x2 c&c. Upper levels don’t count towards the cage size.

Thank you for the advice, I am upgrading because its too small next week. However, my cage squares are a bit bigger than the usual, 50x50 instead of the 35x35. Its also more hexagon shaped haha.
